Marcus Morris is a multidisciplinary artist and imagemaker whose work centers queerness and performance. He was born and raised in Zanesville, Ohio and obtained a BFA from Columbus College of Art & Design. In addition, he spent six months studying Art and Photography at The Michaelis School of Fine Art at The University of Cape Town in Cape Town, South Africa. Based in Brooklyn, NY since 2012, he is currently an MFA candidate and Graduate Fellow at The Ohio State University. Since beginning the MFA, he is a founder and co-organizer of Cineseries, a graduate-led experimental film program that shows monthly at The Wexner Center for the Arts. In addition, he is developing a project focused on his Black queer Appalachian identity called "Elegance Is Refusal."
